Kathy grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL for two years, then transferred to the University of Illinois, Chicago, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Kathy was a Labor and Delivery nurse at Delnor Hospital for 22 years. Then in 2002, Kathy accepted a position at DuKane Obstetrics & Gynecology as nursing manager. At the same time she enrolled in the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Illinois, Chicago, graduating in May, 2006 with her Master of Science in Nursing. She is nationally certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and is a licensed Advance Practice Nurse. Kathy is married to Mike and has three grown children, Sarah (and son-in-law Chris), James, and Wesley.

Practice Philosophy:

Good patient care involves a partnership between the patient and provider that is based on mutual goals for health. This partnership is based on trust, which must be earned, and is established by providing care that is competent and evidence-based, as well as holistic, empathetic, and respectful. Patient care also encompasses the health of the patient’s family and community. Preventive care is the key to good health.
